Welcome to Uganda National Association of the Deaf

 Uganda National Association of the Deaf (UNAD) is a Non Governmental Organization bringing together all different categories of Deaf people in Uganda. UNAD is affiliated to World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) which is recognized by United Nations as an International Non Governmental Organization representing approximately 70 million Deaf people worldwide.

About 80% of these live in developing countries, where local authorities are rarely familiar with their needs and where few Deaf children have access to Education. In Uganda out of the estimated 750,000 Deaf persons less than 10 % have access to quality education.
