Kambara Deaf Development Project

Aim of the Project
The long term partnership was established between UNAD and Action Aid InternationalUganda (AAIU) in 2000, to improve the social and economic welfare of the Deaf people and their families in Mbarara, Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa and Isingiro districts.

Source of project income
The funding mechanism is based on child sponsorship programming through raising the project finance by linking the Deaf children and their siblings to sponsors in Ireland. This is through case history collection, child message and photo updates. The income raised is utilized to benefit the entire targeted community and not on individual children or families. This indicates why the programme is a long term partnership.
